The Fallen Kingdom by Elizabeth May – Review

5 out of 5 stars

Be still my beating heart. I have loved this series, and have been waiting for this book for around a year now. It definitely didn’t disappoint, either. If someone asked me to name an underrated YA series, I would say The Falconer. It definitely doesn’t get the recognition it deserves (seriously peeps I want FANART and HYPE and FANFICTION! Is that too much?!).

So Aileana has made a deal with the Cailleach and now has her powers, but has two problems; one, those powers are burning her out; two, she can’t remember this. She can’t remember her name, or where she is. How can you save the world when you can’t even remember who you are?

Aileana is still fabulous in this one. She still battles with her more, ah, violent side, but I still love her. She’s sassy and funny and strong.

Kiaran is still slowly making his way to the top of my book boyfriends list. He has his demons, and is fighting to keep them in check.

A character that also needs a mention is Sorcha. Yeah, the Sorcha we’ve spent the other two books hating. We still hate her, don’t fret, but I don’t hate her quite as much. We learn more about her history, and while her reasons don’t excuse her actions, I loved learning about her. And she does redeem herself a lil bit.

I loved this book so much. It made me laugh and cry and it warmed my heart. I highly recommend.
