If there was any doubt in my mind about Mona Kasten, it would have been erased when I read her interview at the back of the book, where she says she has three tattoos, one of which is a quote from Throne of Glass, and another is a quote from The Infernal Devices.
(As it was, I fucking LOVED this book, so there were no doubts in my mind. But if there were any…)
I almost didn’t request Begin Again because when I searched for it on Goodreads, the entire page was in German. But I took a leap of faith, and I’m SO pleased I did. I adored this book.
Allie is determined to make a new life for herself, and is on the hunt for a flat. After seeing one too many mold-infested flats, she starts to lose hope. Until she meets Kaden White, hot as hell but also a complete arsehole (it wouldn’t be a NA romance if he wasn’t, no?), and he lays down three rules;
1. don’t talk about your ‘girl problems’
2. keep quiet if I hook up with someone
3. we will NEVER hook up
(Spoiler alert: they hook up)
(Shocker, I know)
Right from the get go, I knew I was going to love this. Allie is a sweetheart, Dawn is the best friend everyone wants, and Kaden…well, there were times where I wanted to push him out a window, but he’s still going on my ‘swoon worthy boys’ shelf. What can ya do?
It can be so hard to find well written NA books, so I’m so pleased that I found Mona’s writing. I’m currently hoping and praying that her other books get translated.
(Just as a disclaimer, I was fucking awesome at GCSE German. But while I could say “hello, my name is Kate, I live in England”, I just think reading an entire book in German is overestimating my abilities.)
*Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read this book*
