This was entertaining. Cheesy (sometimes bordering on cringey), but I flew through it.
This book is told in dual POVs; Liv, our female lead, who brings back a few glass bottles from her trip to Egypt, and Gabe, a genie who lived in one of those bottles. In opening his bottle, Liv is now Gabe’s mistress, and he needs to fulfil her needs and wishes, feeding off her life force.
Remember the cheesiness I mentioned earlier? That’s Gabe. Gabe is cheesier than cheddar. And I just couldn’t get past his name. Every time I read his name I just thought of Gibby from iCarly and I have no idea why.
The real stars of this show? Twins, Scarlett and Penny, who are in their Harry Potter phase and dress up in House colours or like characters. One of them almost got arrested for hacking into the FBI services. Get in there.
As a warning, the ending is a cliffhanger. I’m not entirely sure I’ll continue the series, but I did enjoy this one.
