Release date – 25th June 2018

Genre – New Adult, Contemporary

My rating – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Okay this book is cheesy and unrealistic but I absolutely loved it? It was so adorable that I could overlook the fact that they fell in love over a few days, because it doesn’t actually feel like only a few days, you know?

What It’s About

When Ethan’s twin brother convinced him to do a little switcheroo number, where Ethan takes his brother’s girlfriend on a road trip, Ethan has no plans of actually following through on his brother’s crazy idea. He plans on letting Gwen down gently, telling her that she deserves better than his arsehole brother…but it doesn’t quite work like that. Because when Ethan meets Gwen, he didn’t expect her to be the sweet, bubbly and captivating woman she is. And while it was hard enough to tell her the truth initially, it starts to get even harder when Ethan finds himself falling for Gwen.

The Writing & Characters

This is my first book by Cindi Madsen and I’ll definitely be trying more of her books! Her writing is simply addictive, and her characters are also very well done and likeable (apart from Evan, who was a dick, but I have hope that he can redeem himself).

While I’m usually a massive fan of dual POVs (so long as I like the characters, obviously), I do find that they’re very easy to get wrong. Done right, the POVs should not only add different layers and perspectives to the story, but you should also enjoy both characters views almost equally.

So, yeah, it’s easy to get wrong.

But Cindi managed to get the dual POVs down, and I enjoyed both Gwen and Ethan’s voices. A big thing for me with multiple POVs is that I often have a favourite, and I spend the entire book waiting for that character’s chapters; that didn’t happen here, though, which was fab.

The Verdict

I would definitely recommend giving this a try if you’re looking for a sweet and romantic summer read. It’ll give you all the warm and fuzzies!

*thank you to the publisher for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review*
