Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas Review

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to finish this series which I have loved and treasured above any other. I will never stop being thankful to Sarah for these characters, who have managed to bring me light in my darkness and courage when I had none. I will love and treasure these books for the rest of my life.

Weighing in at around 980 pages, this book is a beast but it never felt too long and dragged out to me. Some books that are on the longer side can sometimes feel like a chore to get through (I’m looking at you, Game of Thrones), but I was always looking forward to getting back with Aelin and the gang. Sure, I preferred certain POVs over others (like, I love Aelin with my entire heart, but I wasn’t too bothered about Nesryn), but I soon sunk into them.

I started crying at around fifty pages in, and then it was just on and off for the rest of the book; sometimes it was sad crying, sometimes it was happy crying and sometimes it was just overwhelmed crying.

Either way, I would just like to thank Kleenex for their continuous support.

Honestly, at this point, there’s nothing else I can really say about this book other than that it’s fucking fantastic, and you need to read it. Words cannot express how much I adore this series, and Aelin will always hold a piece of my heart, for helping me walk my own dark path.
